Short Story Progress

I'm working on the short stories that come before Hammerblood, Book 1. I *think* I found all my notes… They were a LITTLE scattered.

At times, I have to curse the muse that can wait no better than a hungry 2 year old with a good view of pizza—leaving me to record my thoughts like a mad man on any available surface or device.

Retrieving them later is like unearthing a dinosaur fossil, broken and scattered.

Right now, I’m outlining the three shorts and initially I am relieved. One concern was length, but with the first short outline clocking in at 1600 words, I think the full story will keep close to my goal of 10,000 words.

Here’s hoping… The last short story in the Hammerblood universe started as an exercise in writing battle scenes, grew to a 20,000 word short, then blew up to a 700 page novel.

Now, where is that femur?
